Betsy is serving as a juror for Documentary Features at the Dallas Video Festival Betsy McLane is the author of the book A NEW HISTORY OF DOCUMENTARY FILM: SECOND EDITION, which recently went into a second printing. She has served as the Project Director for the The American Documentary Showcase, a cooperative project of the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of US Department of State. For eight years McLane as the Executive Director the International Documentary Association. She hold and MA and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
